Umodzi Youth Organization (UYO), a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) founded by a group of young people led by a young woman (|Memory Pondeponde) was established and registered on 1st October 2004 in Blantyre under the Trustees Incorporation Act of 1962 within the Laws of the Government of Malawi.
UYO was established in response to the growing social and economic concerns and challenges such as access to education, health information and service, human rights and social justice facing the vulnerable youth, women and children in the local communities.
The organization is governed by a Board of Trustees responsible for financial management, policy, staff and procedural matters, within the mandate of its constitution and all applicable by-laws and standing policies.
